My fave Cooking Vlogger Gathering

OMG Maangchi held her 10th years anniversary party!

Mannn, I know my excited mood should be a few weeks ago. The excitement has to be all gone now. But duh I just received the news a few minutes ago, got very excited myself and decided to put this up on my blog, just in case if there's a fan of Maangchi out there, just like me you'll hit the jackpot hihi

I guess Maangchi is the face of Korean cooking after all. I am tempted to taste her food rather than any kind of Korean food out there. Even if I were given two choices of tasting food genuinely came from Korea and Maangchi food, surely I'll pick hers.

I am so her fans that I end up trying her recipes, lol.

I wish I can make her proud too with my Dakjim and Japchae haha.

I want to make friends, talk about food and meet Maangchi too! T.T

Please check her cooking videos on Youtube guys if you are a fan of Korean food and wanna try it out yourself. I procrastinated a lot with her videos, lol.
Yup, I just can't help it...

How I celebrated my day

Assalamualaikum peeps,

So today marks the end of my big tasks.

I had successfully defended my proposal last Monday and done with my ethics test today. Yeayy for me! Kelas ethics tu ialah kelas paling power dan dahsat if I have to compare with my classes during my undergraduate days. Not because of the content but because of my lecturer who can talk non-stop for 3 hours hahaha. Kalau tengok belah brothers tu semua dah ketiduran.

So, for the past few days I don't really eat. Revising and practising my slides. Upgrading it, discussed with my supervisor and get it done quickly so I can do my mock presentation several times. The crucial part was of course the methods. Examiner asked lots of questions for sure. T.T Then she met my supervisor and outlined her suggestions again. Such a dedicated examiner, thank you very much :)

After my test was over, I began craving for foods. Macam tahu tahu je, perut ni perlukan celebration hehehe. I tagged along with a friend to change our bank card into paywave system and later decided to go for a hispter cafe around Kuantan. We were looking for coffee to be frank. Sadly, all cafes are close at lunch hour.

We decided to go for Jhonnys afterwards.

Had my steam chickens! yumms

Fave ice cream after Copenhagen and Gelatissimo
lol

Anyway, I read a very interesting stories in iium confession. Inspired by the stories, haha right after the lunch and dessert, we headed to iium's library, and started to look for historical reads. Aside from learning sciences, I have inner curiosity in historical stories. To let this mind in a peaceful state for a while after cramping it with tons of scientific materials, I had my mocha and rooting myself with reading books in the library. Perfect timing for me :) Though it was kind of hard to look for this section, I encountered with a lot of medical books and scientific books in the library before finally got it revealed after 40 minutes.

I can't remember its name. This is an impromtu plan when kak Suphia
turned her car and came across a hipster cafe. I had this for dinner today.

It's been a great day today.
I feel like hosting Rasa Halal Antarabangsa. Kahkah

Dessert: Peanut Butter Cheesecake

I scrolled over my photo album in August and I found an appetizing picture of my baked peanut butter cheese cake. Well at least it do look appetizing to me aha. And the best part was: ni hasil google seorang Wan Syafiqa yang gigih untuk menghabiskan 1kg krim keju dalam peti ais rumah dan satu botol peanut butter. I bought this like ages before and alhamdulillah, it is not overdue yet. Actually my initial plan was to make mazola cookies during eid but everything got so busy. Hence a packet of peanut butter and a bottle of peanut butter spread were left untouched. Abah does not even pay attention of baking obviously. So afraid of wasting it, i turned everything into a cheese cake.

Cheesecake is super duper easy compared to other cakes. Whatever cheesecake, you name it is the best cake to bake in Australia. Super cheap and easy! I mean, it's so rare to find a fail cheesecake especially in no bake cheese cake. If you did fail, you're really the chosen one lol.

Okay let's do this.

Ingredients:

The crust-
The original recipes uses pretzel as its base. However, I couldn't find any pretzel when I did my shopping so I used digestive biscuits instead. So chuck out half of the packet and smashed them hard. I put them in a plastic bag and smash them like crazy haha. I'm pretty sure it would taste amazing with pretzel cause the crunchy, sweet and salty taste is so wonderful pairing with such creamy and peanut-ty taste.
1/3 cup of butter - melted
Steps:
So what you have to do is to combine those two together, Press in the bottom of your baking pan, bake it at 180 degree for 15 mins.

The cream cheese-
500gm of cream cheese (I used tartura coz it's the only cream cheese i found)
1-1/2 cup of sugar (I used castor sugar just to reduce its sweetness and to blend well with the cheese)
3/4 creamy peanut butter
2 teaspoon of vanilla extract
3 eggs lightly beaten
1 cup peanut butter chips (I skipped this step)
1 cup semichocolate chips (Beli tesco punya sudah)

Steps:
1) Beat cream cheese and sugar until smooth
2) Add eggs, beat on low
3) Stir in chips and pour over crust
4) Bake for 40 mins to 1 hour at 180 degree.

Topping(my dad loves this so much)
1 cup of sour cream
3 table spoon of peanut butter spread
1/2 cup of sugar (castor sugar is the best)
1/2 cup of chopped unsalted peanut butter
Steps:
You just mix everything over except the chopped peanut butter and pour it over the cooled cake. Sprinkle the unsalted peanut butter on the top of your toppings and it's ready to eat!

Tadaa! My peanut butter cheese cake attempt.

I portioned it into three.
I left one at home, give one to kampung and give away another piece to a friend.
Alhamdulillah, everybody loves this especially my sister!

I don't really fancy eating dessert but this one is an exception. I tasted many different kind of cheese cake before but peanut butter cheese is something dissimilar taste for you to try on! So creamy and full of nuts :) If you're looking for a perfect evening tea, this recipe is worth trying. My big recommendation is to use pretzel as its crust. This would give an extra divergent zest to your cake.

Cheers and happy baking!

Korean Food - Dakjjim Recipe

Okay lah sebab semalam dah bagi tahu nak share recipe,

Jemput korang try lah recipe dakjjim @ braised chicken with vegetables. Mihmih

For me, korean food ni banyak based dia kicap, sesame oil, hot chilli paste @ gochujang dan hot pepper flakes. Sepanjang revision aku kat video maangchi tu la. Correct me if I'm wrong but that's how I feel.

Before we begin, hehe review aku untuk recipe ni dia ala ala ayam masak kicap tapi versi korea. Haa gituu.

Disebabkan kteorang berdua je yang nak makan, so I cut this recipe into half. Bahan bahan dia kteorang banyak shopping kat jusco je. Barang mahal sikit lah.

Bahan bahan :

i. Glass noodle
ii. Sesame oil
iii.Rice syrup (Boleh substitute dengan honey)
iv. Sesame seed untuk hiasan. Maangchi kata korean always use toasted sesame seed. Tapi aku tak peduli semua itu. hahaha

i. Any type of mushroom - i used shitake mushroom
ii. 1/2 carrot
iii. 2 potatoes
iv. 1/2 onions
v. Garlic & ginger.

Sauce dia pulak, ni yang penting:
i. 1/5 oyster sauce
ii. 1/5 kicap masin. Hari tu guna kicap adabi je, jalen pun boleh lol.
iii. 1/5 rice syrup
iv. 1/2 brown sugar.

*And main thing lupa pulak, ayam. Boleh guna bahagian apa pun korang suka. Sebab i like thigh, so guna la dalam 400-500gm ayam camtu. Potong bite site okay?

*Rendam juga glass noodle tu sampai dia lembut sikit. Amik 50gm. Agak2 je. haha

Cara-cara:

1. Guna 1-2 sudu minyak dan goreng 3 biji cili kering,  jangan sampai terbakar. Biar keluar bau dan garing sikit lepastu angkat.
2. Lepastu masukkan ayam. Goreng dia dalam 5-10 mins.
3. Masukkan halia dan bawang putih. Kacau kacau sampai naik bau
4. Masukkan kentang, sos tadi dan 1.5 cawan air. Tutup dan masak 10mins
5. Masukkan glass noodle

*Api, sederhana panas ye. Jangan pakai api besar sangat pulak, nanti broth evaporate pula.

Tadaaaaa, my dakjjim :)

Any Koreans up for this Malay girl?
hahahaha

Help me

My facebook is flooded with lots of cooking video and if I have my kitchen right now I would probably tried everything I watched! Apart from writing, cooking is one of my best therapy. I can be more expressive with cooking too lol

True, my obsession over food is crazy ya knoww. hahaha

So when I am a foodie, I cook as well. I don't wanna really say this, but I think I have good sense of tasting, that's when my every dish turns out pretty well hehehe.

Because of this, I've been wishing to be part of Rasa Halal Antarabangsa host, because that show really gathers every of my passion and obsession at the same time! Travelling, eating good halal food, hosting, spreading the beauty of every cultures, experience new things, feel the air of another country, see the world and even got the chance to learn new traditional cuisine of other races, that would just sound perfect to me. Sooo purrfeeect. And I know this is so not going to happen thus I'll just have to keep keep dreaming, hahaha.

Just recently, I watched so many cooking demonstration on youtube. If you look at my subscriptions, you'll die in hunger since I only subscribe good food and recipes in my channel haha so this is what I'm doing during weekend if I have nothing else to do, watching and drooling. Anndd my another wish is to taste the food cooked by top chefs and youtubers like chef wan and maangchi. Maangchi is so popular with her korean dishes, and everytime I watched it, she just making me watching her videos more. I even played the same video numerous time because of how good the food looks like.

My late mom used to bake and sell a lot of cakes and cookies before. My mother was a very amazing cook. She cooks everyday that I have never got the chance to know lauk bungkus actually exists when I was in school. I've grown up in a family who eat home-cooked meal a lot. I thought that every family is like that when in fact it is not. Everytime she tasted a dish, she'll tell me she can make this turn out even better and truly she did. That is to the point when I found how extremely amazing she was. Out of my siblings, I am always the one who would accompany my mom in the kitchen. Well, most of my sisters did, but I think I'm the most often one. My fondness of trying to cook was even before I started kindergarten. I used to interrupt my mom when she baked and to drive my attention away, my mom would tell me to watch some sort of cooking shows on tv lol. And I would asked my mom everyday, "mak ada masak masak tak harini?" hahaha. I hope she didn't feel annoyed, When I've done with my matriculation, I had a 9 months bloody long break before I flew to Adelaide. I realized I learnt so much from her and we even had a deep conversation sometimes. And that was I think, I was matured enough to listen to her deep convo. I think my mom was born to make everyone happy because what I realized, she's happy when she can make people happy. Such a pure and lovely woman she is :)

I wanted to preserve this quality she had in my family soon :) I wanted my family to grow with the barakah food I cook. Uhm, here it goes my identity crisis again. hahaha. I still think that people who reads a lot, have a lot of knowledge is the richest person among all. That's why I chose to pursue master and dig more and more experience each day. I wanted to inspire people and tell the world how important knowledge and experiences are to me. Coz if you have that title, people tend to believe you more. That's when if people asked, I can tell them how my research is going on with enthusiasm. I can help them in so many ways. Help them to study and share with other people how I did to secure a supervisor, scholarship and all. To be frank, I am always happy receiving emails and private message regarding mybrainsc before. This small heart really wanted to help people :)

However, the other side of me is always dreaming of being a wife and a mother who cooks on every meal, I just want to be the wife who would ask my husband what he's going to eat, and can literally eat every food I cooked with love and gesture of appreciation, I just wanna listen to how he loves my food very much and kiss my forehead telling me how wonderful I treated our family. I wanna be a supermom educating my children too. While I know the best mom is the one who stayed at home, I wanna be a woman who works because I want a brain which keep on functioning everyday lol. Not downgrading anyone, but it is just me. I am like that. I have to go out meeting people, learn some things, do some research to keep my soul alive.

Well I hope I can sort these things out, soon.
I have too much things in my head that I need somebody to help me with these thoughts.
Sigh.

My Addiction to Japanese Food

Assalamualaikum peeps.

This blog is a personal part of me. I don't reveal myself  much in other social media but I do talk a lot in my blog. So if you found myself bragging and talking without consent, layan kan ajer k hahaha

My family and close friends around me know how I enjoy eating so much. A friend even suggested me to run a food blog due to my food obsession. I have this universal tongue which easily tolerate with various kind of different foods except egg yolk lol. I rather die in hunger than forcing myself eating egg yolk so I tend to be very picky when it comes to egg. Jadi bila ada kawan yang tag aku saja saja nak tease aku dengan telur dekat facebook, habis seminggu aku tak makan telur lepas tu -__- bau telur pun tak boleh. Hm kalah orang mengandung haha. Ini cerita benar ya. Me and eggs are relatively complicated!

So, today I am supposed to have iftar with my Algerian friend, Assia. Well I personally thought middle eastern people, uhm she's from North Africa to be exact, is very particular about food. I know they went crazy over chicken and beef. And also fish is not even in their option because they hate it. To my surprise, this girl has mutual interest with me! Both of us are craving for Japanese food like hell. Ohmai ohmai. This is very rare! Nak cari gadis melayu yang teman aku p makan sushi king pun susahh, last last jumpa Assia, si gadis manis Algeria ni pula :')

Me is in lovee. Hati dah berbunga...

I'm so over excited yang aku dah teringat dari pagi tadi siap google lagi menu sushi king, dah fikir fikir nak makan apa. But then she texted saying she can't make it today, so we shall go for a sushi date tomorrow. T.T Waiting for another 24 hours is a torture though. Ngaaaaa

Tetiba hati kecilku meronta-ronta nak ikut along pegi Jepun lagi tahun depan. Nak sushiiii... Seriously nothing can ever beats Japanese food in Japan. Ya tuhan, makan kat Jepun sedap dia lain macam. Obviously because its their authentic food kan. Kena pula harini tertengok video okonomiyaki. Hm hm I feel like crying T.T tak tahu nak cakap keciwa dan obsesi aku ni makin menjadi jadi pulak, Padahal, sebelum puasa adik beradik aku semua pakat melepaskan craving masing masing kat sushi and Japanese food walaupun semua makan kat tempat lain dan update dekat whatsapp je mampu. Sampai tahap aku wonder, adakah darah Nippon ini benar benar mengalir dalam badan kami? Hahaha

Mula la aku throwback my every food kat Jepun. Aku ni malas amik gambar sebab dah tak tahan sangat nak makan. hewhew. Mungkin sebab tu insta never works for me. Tak tahu nak update gambar apa. Gambar aku amik ni pun ada la bergoyang sikit, tak cantik ah sebab nak tunjuk kat whatsapp family je nak kabo ke deme yang tengok lah ika makan apaaa. hihihi. Takpelah, I'll change. Nak melakarkan kenangan abadi bersama makanan gituuw

Ni soba. Aku makan kat Enoshima. Ada seorang akhwat ni belanja :) Jzkk awak. Sedap sangat.
Tapi tulah, kawan aku cakap orang jepun ni packing dorang taknak kalah. Mesti packing lawa lawa.
Hai sushi sayang. Aku merindui mu T.T
This is grilled mackarel! Hah, kat malaysia ada je grilled mackarel ni. Masa ni aku makan dengan sedapnya sebab aku baru touch down hokkaido.
This is sukiyaki. Sukiyaki is a japanese steamboat. Power sebab seafood dia fresh gila. Tambah tambah ni kat hokkaido, lagilah mantap. 7/10!
This is Japanese Salmon soup. Haaa. Ni kan aku rasa dai rebus segala sisa tulang salmon tu untuk menghasilkan broth. Flavour dia tak strong manapun, tak macam sup kita ka malaysia yang kaya dengan segala rempah dan bawang, simple je but very healthy and rich with its salmon taste!
Matcha cake! Right after I come back from Japan, aku dah mula jatuh cinta dengan green tea.
Thiss, seafood grilled aku kat Hokkaido. Last dinner dengan siti.
Tapi kteorang semua makan lain lain Ramen, so merasa la semua daaan semua ni sedap belaka! Sebelah tu karage, dia japanese fried chicken. MashaAllah brother, sedappp
This is my faveee. Ahhh sedap gila sebab rasa mackarel dia naik sangat. I think its smoke mackarel ke apa tah, tapi really really good.

Aku pun redha.
Takpelah, balik nanti adik nak belanja satu family sushi sebab dia dapat dean list lagi.
Untung ada adik pelajar cemerlang UTM ni. hehehe
Ja matta!
